Dr. Greg S. Thompson specializes in general surgery, robotic surgery and wound care. While an undergraduate at Auburn University, Dr. Thompson served as an EMT and firefighter with the Auburn City Fire Department and volunteered on surgical mission trips to Honduras and Guatemala. Dr. Thompson received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Following medical school, he completed his general surgery residency at Brookwood Baptist Health, where he was the resident ambassador to the American College of Surgeons. He was also presented with the Hugh Linder Award, which recognizes the top surgical resident in the program. Dr. Thompson obtained the Alabama Controlled Substances Certificate and is additionally certified in the following: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support. When he is not at the hospital providing high-quality care to his patients, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, being outdoors and watching Auburn football.
