Stephen Gould, MD

Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine

Dr. Stephen Gould is a board-certified orthopedics & sports medicine surgeon with 12 years of experience. He received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York. After medical school, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, where he received the senior resident research award (2014). Dr. Gould concluded his training with a sports medicine fellowship with Andrews Sports Medicine in Birmingham and was honored with the American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society research paper award (2015). Dr. Gould served on the faculty at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) as Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedics before coming to Cullman Regional. Dr. Gould has served as team doctor for UAB athletics including UAB football and baseball and has been team physician for the Birmingham Legion professional soccer team. He played division one lacrosse while at Johns Hopkins University and is excited to see the sport grow in the south.
