Lakshmi Kannan, MD

Dr. Lakshmi Kannan is board certified in endocrinology, internal medicine and obesity medicine and has over 20 years of experience. She received her MBBS from Thanjavur Medical College in Tamil Nadu, India and her MSc in Molecular Medicine from Queen’s University in Belfast, United Kingdom. Dr. Kannan completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. She then completed her fellowship in endocrinology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kannan is a member of The Endocrine Society and The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. In addition, she has received a long list of awards, including the Robert D. Utiger Award for Outstanding Research by an Endocrine Fellow from the University of Pennsylvania and an award for "Outstanding Board Review Performance" by the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kannan was born and raised in India and enjoys cooking, listening to music and traveling.
